First signs of an artistic calling appeared during family holidays on the North Norfolk coast in the 1970’s. This took off photographically after a summer holiday to the Costa Brava when I sold my first picture of the little fishing port of Port de la Selva to Catalan Villas.
In the mid 1980’s I went on to study Photography, Film & Television at Plymouth College of Art and Design which introduced me to the wonderful world of animation. This new direction had initially been inspired through work experience at the Walt Disney Studios in Sydney while on a round the world trip. The next 10 to 15 years were spent in various animation studios in Cardiff, Manchester and London working largely on children’s TV productions and half hour specials.
To help complement my animation work between productions, I was able to continue my photography work thanks to commissions for travel brochures & hotels in Turkey & Northern Cyprus. This led to image sales to Noble Caledonia and brochure commissions with Anatolian Sky Holidays.
My love for the natural world and wild places has led me to visit stunning and dramatic scenery in Australia, the United States, Canada and particularly New Zealand. These travels have fuelled my passion for landscape photography. The work of Ansel Adams and his beautiful black & white images of the American West and more recently Frans Lanting’s wildlife images have also been a great inspiration to me.
I currently have a selection of prints available to buy at online art galleries such as Fine Art America, Red Bubble, Easyart, Artflakes and others. Besides, a selection of my Antelope Canyon images have been represented by the art rental company Ginger White.
10% of the profits from my work goes to support W.W.F..
