Jim Benest has been photographing people, places and things for over twenty years. His professional photography career began in 1987 when he opened Moments to Remember Photography, a wedding and portrait studio.
Over the years, Jim's love of shooting landscapes and florals have led him to travel to South America, Italy and the American Southwest. In 2004, Jim opened his own gallery, The Collective Fine Art Gallery, in downtown Fort Collins, Colorado.
Jim's creative vision leads him to capture the beauty in landscapes, flowers and people that are often overlooked by the casual observer. His passion for macro photography brings into focus the tiny details of a perfect blossom. His sweeping images of the Colorado grasslands capture the grandeur of a desolate landscape often forgotten in the bustle of our fast-paced society. A marsh beside a busy highway becomes a tranquil retreat with Jim's careful composition in the camera.
Through his photography, Jim hopes to transport the viewer to a place of sanctuary, where time stands still and one can stop and smell the roses.
