Frozen Buds

After a few unseasonably mild winter days, trees were fooled into believing spring had arrived. Buds were beginning to appear, but were frozen in time as winter immediately returned. This tree branch shows new life, covered in ice and waiting to burst forth. I wanted to capture the detail found in the thin veil of ice and the life beneath.
