A Climate for Life Exhibition

 

Fine Print Imaging and Art for Conservation partner with Conservation International and the International League of Conservation Photographers in producing a dramatic traveling exhibit of images from the new book: A Climate for Life: Meeting the Global Challenge. Sponsored by the Dean Witter Foundation, the exhibit runs from January through April 2009 at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco.

A CLIMATE FOR LIFE focuses on the global challenge of climate change and suggests ways to dramatically reduce risks to human health, economic prosperity and the planet’s irreplaceable biological diversity.

The exhibit and book cover the foremost climate issues of our time:
• Deforestation and the importance of conservation and restoration in helping to stabilize the global climate.
• The role our oceans play in shaping the climate
• Impacts of climate change on freshwater ecosystems.
• Changes we can anticipate in response to warming polar regions.
• Risks humans will face, particularly in developing countries, as our atmosphere warms.

Hope lies in dedicated people and technological innovations moving us away from fossil fuels and towards the harnessing of wind, solar and other renewable energy options on a global scale. Reducing carbon emissions through innovative energy production, along with strategies to prevent deforestation and land degradation offer ecologically and economically attractive means of stabilizing Earth’s climate.
