NGO Partners Promote Amphibian Project

You've probably seen the two beautiful frog prints in the Art for Conservation online gallery. So what's the story behind the frogs? The prints are being offered - at a VERY reasonable price - by The Amphibian Project and Art for Conservation. And here's the rest of the story.
The Amphibian Project (APT) is a collaboration between five conservation professionals brought together by the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders program working to save one threatened species of frog from extinction. The Amphibian Project Team is supporting Amphibian Ark to raise funds for and awareness of the global amphibian extinction crisis. Its members are Payal Kapoor, Conservation International; Carol Rizkalla, Disney’s Animal Kingdom; Jennifer Sevin, Smithsonian Institution; Scott Smith, Wildlife Conservation Society; and Aimee Weldon, Defenders of Wildlife.
30-50% of all amphibians in the world could go extinct in your lifetime. This is your chance to do something about it. The Amphibian Project is working to save one of the world's most endangered amphibians, the Large-crested toad (Bufo cristatus) from extinction.
The Amphibian Project, in coordination with Amphibian Ark, will help one zoo in Puebla, Mexico - Africam Safari - to build a facility to save the critically endangered Large-crested toad. With APT's support, Africam Safari will not only build the facility, but they will also begin restoring the toad's degraded forest habitat and develop educational programs for the local communities within the toad's habitat.
The Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders program's mission is to identify and nurture future wildlife conservation leaders from NGO's, foundations, private, and public sectors. Every two years, EWCL brings together twenty-one new, emerging leaders in the wildlife conservation field "for capacity building and intense training in campaign development and skills, including implementation of a two-year international wildlife campaign."
You can help support The Amphibian Project by purchasing 2 separate frog giclee prints right here in the Art for Conservation Gallery. The original frog paintings were created by artist Pine Roehrs.
