BBC's Natural History Unit unveils EARTH
After five years in production, with 40 specialist crews having produced thousands of hours of 35mm and HD footage in 200 locations across 26 countries, BBC Natural History Unit filmmakers and documentary veterans Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield have unveiled their most ambitious film to date: Earth. Fans of nature documentaries all acknowledge the incredible achievements of the directors' past projects, Planet Earth and Blue Planet, among others. In Earth, Patrick Stewart narrates as sweeping aerial shots (a result of 250 days of aerial shooting) portray the migration of elephants from the Kalahari to the Okavango Delta, polar bears in Norway, and humpback whales embarking on an epic journey from the equator to the South pole.
