ART And The ANIMAL National Tour

May 30 through July 5, 2009 the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park will host the 48th Annual National Tour of the Society of Animal Artists (S.A.A.), in its signature show ART AND THE ANIMAL. This premier art exhibition will make its first appearance in Estes Park, Colorado at the CAC Fine Art Gallery this summer.
The S.A.A ART AND THE ANIMAL Annual Exhibitions and Touring Exhibitions have been featured at more than 50 venues including museums and zoos, and art, cultural and science centers throughout North America. As one of five fine art galleries or museums across the country chosen for this prestigious tour, the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park is looking forward to sharing this truly exquisite show with its community and its visitors.
The 2008-2009 national tour features 63 paintings and sculptures by renowned artists from around the world. The Society of Animal Artists is a world-wide organization headquartered in New York City. It is located in the historic Salmagundi Art Club on Fifth Avenue in New York. Society members come from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America.
ART AND THE ANIMAL refers to both the Annual Exhibition of the Society of Animal Artists, and the Traveling Exhibition and Tour that is generated from it. ART AND THE ANIMAL is the flagship of The Society of Animal Artists and is a juried competition open only to members of the Society of Animal Artists. Artists interested in membership are urged to contact the Society of Animal Artists.
The mission of The Society of Animal Artists is to promote excellence in the portrayal of animals, domestic and/or wild, in art. The Society was founded in 1960. Over the past 45 years, works created by members of The Society of Animal Artists have established new standards of artistic excellence in fine art.

Vogel. “This collection of art is unsurpassed for its beauty, sensitivity and portrayal of the animal world. It is also a great opportunity to see original work by some of the most accomplished wildlife artists from around the globe.”
