Kristen Densmore
Kristen Densmore is a portrait, wildlife, and landscape photographer with a focus on social and environmental issues. She received her MFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design and graduated from Prescott College with a BA in Visual Arts.
Much of her recent work has been done at zoos and aquariums throughout the United States. She hopes to memorialize animals that no longer have a home in the wild. She says, "I want to bear witness through my art and photography. To meditate on what we are doing to their world (our world) - so that we can shift our perceptions of, and relationship to, non-human animals and their environment. For me, the camera is an instrument of veneration and respect. It is also a tool for change—wherever we place our consciousness has the potential to transform our current reality."
