Having been a professional batik artist for the past 25 years, Beth Erlund-Johnson has done a lot of experimenting, which has led to a unique look in batik.

Since she has been a wildlife artist for almost 30 years, animals are a major focus in Beth's art. Because she believes that artists need to always expand their horizons, Beth is producing pieces in her "Morning After" series of beds and other romantic places, as well as landscape pieces based on her plein air oils.

One of Beth's batiks was included in the Wax Eloquent Exhibition of the 2005 World Batik Conference, and she was a finalist in the 2005 Artists Magazine Competition. She has won numerous awards, including in 2005 First Place at exhibitions in Tarpon Springs and Pigeon Key, Florida; Evergreen and Manitou Springs, Colorado, and received merit awards in Mandarin and Coconut Grove, Florida; Omaha, Nebraska and Denver, Colorado.

Beth's batiks have been the feature of five magazine articles, included in numerous books on wildlife art, in the permanent collections of five art museums and part of many corporate collections. She has also written and illustrated a children's book, I Thought I Saw An Alligator, released November 2004.

Beth's hope is that by her capturing a moment in time, her art has made a lasting impression on many people and helped them to better enjoy nature and the world around them.
