Mark Lukes
My interest in photography comes from my father. Not only did he "punish" his six children by making us pose for countless photos, he also instilled in me a love for nature and how to use the camera to capture my intimacy with nature.
While I had plans to be the nest Eliot Porter, my photo career took a right turn when Fine Print became a reality and consumed all of my waking hours. Now, as president and founder of Fine Print, I get to live vicariously through others artwork.
My photographic journey took another right turn when in 1994, I organized and helped found the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA). That involvement served as a great springboard to promote our conservation message through Art for Conservation. In 2008, I was selected to the executive committee of the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP) which has allowed both Fine Print Imaging and Art for Conservation fulfill its vision to help conserve the planet's natural resources and inhabitants.
I am excited about the potential for Art for Conservation to become an international resource for artists, photographers and individuals who need a place to express their passion for conservation through their imagery. If you believe as I do, join us on this journey.
5% of the profits from my work goes to support The Organization Listed Above.
