Tamara Simmons
Tamara Simmons was born in post-war Germany. Thanks to her mother and grandmother's encouragement, she began painting at an early age. In the 1960s, Tamara immigrated with her family to the United States and settled in Maryland. Throughout her teens she attended the Corcoran School of Fine Art in Washington, D.C. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Fine Art. Since moving to Fort Collins, Colorado in the 90s, Tamara has studied with a number of respected artists. Throughout her many years of study she developed the classical, old- world style that is now present in her paintings. Tamara derives her inspiration from the beauty that surrounds us, be it a simple still life or the grandeur of our landscape. She is a member of the Oil Painter's of America and her paintings have received corporate, regional and national awards.
