Featured Artist: Pete Oxford

Naturalist, biologist, photographer, conservationist and writer. Pete Oxford has traveled extensively around the globe, many times, to all continents, in pursuit of his images. Equally passionate about wildlife and indigenous culture, he is adamant that the preservation of both is inextricably linked.

Pete Oxford came to live in Ecuador in 1985 and has come to know the region and its’ people well. His greatest love in this diverse country is the Amazon, where he has worked as a professional naturalist guide, co-built an ecotourism lodge and had been on the board of directors of another.

Pete Oxford is internationally recognized as a conservation photographer with ten winning images in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards, and many more prestigious events. His work has been exhibited in Quito, Perepignon, Washington D.C., and the Telluride Mountain Film Festival. His numerous articles and images have appeared in National Geographic, BBC Wildlife, International Wildlife, Nature’s Best, GEO, Smithsonian, The Times and African Geographic among others. Pete Oxford is a founding fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers. He has produced eight books.
