Artist Statement
I have been a freelance professional nature photographer since 1990 when I finished my degree in Biology. My interest in ecology and the essence of nature led me to use photography as a vehicle of expression and the way to encourage people to preserve our natural heritage. My images are published worldwide. Usually I allow Spanish NGOs to use my images for free to illustrate the conservation issues.
I have received the recognition of prestigious awards as the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009 where I obtained the Second Prix of the Gerald Durrell Award for Endangered Wildlife. I was the Winner of the Nature’s Best 2009 in the Endangered Species Category. I have been awarded by the prestigious European Nature Heritage Fund (EuroNatur) with the 5th Prize for Nature Treasures of Europe of the Year 2010. Furthermore I was Runner-up in the GDT 2009 in the Landscape Category. I have been awarded with the Grand Prix of the Jury of the Contest Nature Namur Festival of the years 2009 and 2010. The Asferico 2010 honored him as the Winner of the Mammals Category. The 2011 year the Glanzlichter International Contest has awarded me with the First Prize of The Art of Camouflage category.
