Darcia Kovarik
Artist Statement
Photographing the beauty of God’s creations brings a quiet peacefulness to Darcia's soul that is uplifting and inspiring. She feels a passion for the beauty that surrounds her every day – in life’s moments, in nature, animals, and people. She wants to share the uniqueness of her view through the lens so that the viewer too can experience that serenity. Darcia has always been surrounded by nature, horses, pets, rolling hills amidst the plains, and people that valued family, home, and country. It is through a combination of the natural beauty of all of those that she observes life and the many lessons that come with the journey. She chooses to photograph images that resonate within her soul – images that take her breath away, make her heart sing, express the heartbeat of creation, and showcase the power and soul within. She uses the tools within her camera and the effects nature provides to capture and portray images that will speak to the viewer. She strives to remain true to her subject and welcomes the challenges of her craft. Her purpose is to be aware of the moment, see it, and use her experience and camera to capture it and create art.
Darcia desires to share her world of Fine Art photography with the viewer from various angles and vantage points in a way that draws the viewer in, speaks to his soul, inspires his world, and gives him joy.
Darcia has been a professional photographer for 7 years specializing in Equine portraiture and Equine events. Her business also includes Pet portraits and Family/Senior portraiture with a focus on capturing images that communicate the lifestyle of her clients by offering on-location sessions. Darcia’s studio is based in a rural area outside a small town in Nebraska. Darcia shares this about her photographic vision that exemplifies both her Portrait and Fine Art photography, “We live in an open, inviting rural landscape that is becoming less populated everyday and unknown to our urban counterparts. It is a playground of beauty, openness, and tranquility. I feel an obligation to share that with the world whether it is nature or the essence of a person in their environment”.
