Joyce Turley

Calls of the Wild

Artist Statement

JoyceTurley.jpg Award winning children's book illustrator, Joyce Mihran Turley, specializes in presenting images of nature with a painterly style and colorful palette. Her loon and osprey illustrations are featured in a series of books for children, published by Mountain Press Publishing.

Look for new images from 'Animals Count in Grand Canyon National Park' (Grand Canyon Association, 2009) recently added to her Art for Conservation portfolio. Current projects include books on Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, and the Everglades National Park, all featuring images of nature for children.

Stylized and engaging, Joyce's illustrations bring nature to life for readers of all ages. By introducing children to our national parks and conservation issues at an early age, Joyce hopes to encourage a lifetime of appreciation and interest in preserving our natural resources.

Between book projects, Joyce enjoys exploring the relationships of color and shape, planes and intersections, movement and line, in her contemporary and abstract images.

1% of the profits from my work goes to support Rocky Mountain Raptor Program and/or Grand Canyon Association.
