Once you’ve located the art you wish to purchase, add the selected items to your Shopping Cart via the image detail page. Once you have completed your selections, click on View Your Cart to verify your selections.
Proceed by selecting Check Out at the bottom of Your Shopping Cart page. If you’ve already logged on, you will be asked to confirm your shipping address. When using your credit card but shipping to an address different from your billing address, you will need to authorize this address with your credit card company in accordance with their requirements. You will see a Confirm Your Order page listing the print information, size selection with corresponding pricing and any other options you have selected, as well as shipping and sales tax fees. If this is correct, select Submit Payment Info.
2. Payment
We accept payment by credit card. If you would like to set up an account with Art for Conservation, email us here and request a credit application.
3. Credit Card Purchasing
We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. All credit card transactions are processed using Verisign, providing you with guaranteed financial security.

If the transaction is not approved, a message will appear and you will be given the opportunity to correct any information that may have been submitted in error. Once the transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation via email within 24 hours.
4. Sales Tax
Sales tax is calculated for you automatically during check out. Sales tax is applicable on all orders originating within the state of Colorado on the full amount of the purchase. There is no sales tax for purchases from other states or countries. If you have a resale tax license and the purchase of artwork is for the purpose of resale, please provide us with your resale number. Call us for details.
5. Shipping/Delivery Time
All prints will be shipped within two weeks (watercolor giclées and photographs may be shipped sooner). Our standard delivery is FedEx Ground. Because of this, a street address is required on all purchase orders. You may select an alternate mode of delivery at time you place your order. If a delay in shipment is anticipated, we will notify you by phone or email.
6. Matting and Framing
Because framing and matting choices are based on one’s artistic tastes and the decor of the area where the art will be installed, Art for Conservation does no matting or framing other than canvas giclée gallery wrapping. However, should you desire that your art be shipped matted and/or framed, we have developed partnerships with framers who specialize in providing a wide range of artistic finishing choices. Please call us for further information - 800.777.1141
7. What kind of paper and canvas do you print on?
- Photo Paper, Gloss or Matte
Highest quality, archival museum quality photo paper - Fuji Crystal Archive. Gloss has a high sheen, bright look. Matte has a less reflective, natural look. - Epson Presentation Watercolor Paper
A smooth, bright white, coated paper yielding bright colors. This paper is not as heavy as our other watercolor papers and is therefore less expensive. - Somerset Velvet Giclee Fine Art Paper
100% acid free heavyweight cotton rag fine art paper with a textured radiant white velvety surface. Provides vivid color reproduction and rich black tones. Archival museum quality. - Premier Art Smooth Giclee Fine Art Paper
A smooth 100% acid free cotton rag, natural white, heavyweight fine art watercolor paper. Yields brilliant colors and rich B&W prints. Archival museum quality. - Hahnemuhle Bamboo Giclee Fine Paper
Natural white acid free heavyweight fine art paper made from fibers from highly renewable bamboo. Its warm tone combines beautiful art prints with environmental considerations. Archival museum quality. - Fine Art Giclee Canvas
Chromata White Canvas is a textured heavyweight bright white, poly cotton blend matte canvas using an acid-free, neutral pH coating. Our canvas prints are coated after printing with an earth friendly protective, u-v inhibiting varnish. Archival museum quality.
8. Canvas Giclée Finishing Options
Canvas giclées are our most popular product, offering the look and feel of an original oil painting. You have three finishing choices when purchasing canvas giclées.
Canvas Only
These are un-mounted canvas giclées and are printed with a 1.5 inch white border on all four sides (used for stretching on stretcher bars). The size shown represents the actual printed area. You will need to have the canvas stretched and framed before it can be displayed on your wall. Your canvas only giclée may be shipped to you rolled.
Standard Wrap
Standard wrapped canvas giclées are stretched on 5/8" deep stretcher bars and are designed to be framed. Standard wrapped giclées must be shipped flat.
Gallery Wrap
Gallery wrapped giclées are stretched on 1 1/2" stretcher bars. The wrapped edge of the canvas will be printed with either colored borders or “mirrored” edge borders, making gallery wrapped canvas giclées suitable for hanging without a frame. Gallery wrapped giclées must be shipped flat.
9. What is a giclee?
Giclée (pronounced Zhee-Clay) is derived from the French word “gicler” which means “to squirt, to spray”. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giclee. A giclée print is produced by a specialized large format inkjet printer using archival inks and high quality, archival canvas or watercolor paper. The process is relatively new having its beginnings in the1990s. Gclée prints are now considered to be some of the highest quality prints available and are accepted by galleries and museums throughout the world.
